CRASH COURSE

Awarded 2020 Webby honorable mention

Microsoft was looking for a way to drive interest in Microsoft developer resources and tools. We wanted to play with toy robots. This project made everyone happy.

Strategically, we knew that developers prefer content that provides educational value—but we didn’t see a reason why that content couldn’t also be super fun to watch. And so Crash Course was born. A limited YouTube series, Crash Course challenges a pair of brave programmers to break down coding concepts for developers of all skill levels - using only what they can find around them in the room. We’re talking pipe cleaners, toy robots, broken keyboard keys, and dino toys. No pens, paper, whiteboards, or screens allowed.

We produced four 5-minute episodes of Crash Course, and they’ve been a hit, so say the numbers (22.4K views and 97% positive sentiment). The videos are live on YouTube, and currently featured on the Imagine Cup channel.

I wrote script copy and assisted with campaign conceptualization, show naming, casting, and on-set direction.
